Watercolor class description:  We will be focusing on teachings of Kaji Aso including the "dot project" exercises and ideas of "center" in painting. And we will study layering  of colors through still life. and sky studies.  Students will also have the opportunity to work on their own subject matter including  landscapes and imagination. Various media, including colored pencil and gouache, are welcome. Sketching and drawing are encouraged as a base of study for artistic vision.

Quote from Kaji Aso: "After a general introduction to the pure and transparent characteristics of watercolor as well as the layering of colors, we will begin to seek the true essence of nature, such as sunlight, cold moon and the smell of mud."

DRAWING - "WINTER 2024"- the Kitchen

Instructor: Gary Tucker
Class meets via Zoom

Tuesday Evening 7-9 pm

6 week class

January 30th through March 12th

(no class February 20th)

Tuition: $200

Not a "Stew" but a combination
We look at  how the artist uses Tonal Values or Lights and Darks, to bring Clarity to the flavors , Spice to the blend, and Mood to each recipe... - uh, er, drawing

Drawing is the most accessible form of visual art; it is both gratifying and challenging. In this class, we will develop and hone drawing skills in the media of charcoal.  There will be demonstrations by the instructor, followed by questions and answers and then a look at homework. Each session is recorded and that recording is made viewable to students after class. During the week students will submit their drawings and Gary will review them on-line and in class
