000=For Mail Chimp Dec 8th concert Linda Chase.jpg

Join us on Sunday, December 8th at 3:00pm (RSVP administrator@kajiasostudio.com) for an afternoon of musical compositions and improvisations by Linda J. Chase (composer/flutist) with Hankus Netsky (piano/oboe) based on poetry by: Ono no Komachi, Izumi Shikibu, Matsuo Basho and Kaji Aso.

The concert will include two pieces composed after Linda's Japan Foundation Fellowship that happened to coincide with the Tōhoku earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disaster in 2011. Since then, the words of composer Toru Takemeitzu have become central to her vision.  “A lifestyle out of balance with nature is frightening. As long as we live, we aspire to harmonize with nature. It is this harmony in which the arts originate and to which they will eventually return.”
